Scorpio Rising was an absolute delight! So much eye candy, but also, functional eye candy! There were fun games that I wish we had time to play, books I wish we had more time to read, and the property was amazing. So many spots to sit and relax, and so many creatures to watch! At first we were worried that the beds may be too firm, but those foam mattresses are actually quite comfortable. We all slept like the dead. The pool was ice cold due to the late October desert nights, but we all had fun jumping in and then rushing to the hot tub. It also did feel very good after a good desert walk. Jill also had wonderful suggestions for a hike that we really enjoyed, and also tips to encourage more wildlife to come visit. This was one of the best AirBnbs I have ever stayed at. Will definitely return if I ever have the chance!

OMG!!! Watching “Desert TV” was so much fun. Seriously, there are chipmunks that’s stand on cacti. You have to see it to believe it. We had such a great time we extended our stay. The pool is super hip. The decor retro comfortable. Jill made us feel right at home. Can’t wait to be back!!!

If I could stay here once a year, I would... actually I might try. Everything about this place was perfect. 1) The host, Jill, was amazing! Clear communication. Answered all of my questions right away and was insanely helpful. Best Airbnb host experience thus far. 2) The space was perfection. The 6 people in my group all had plenty of space and slept comfortably. We loved the pool and jacuzzi. 3) Towels, dishes, and everything you need to cook and clean is provided. It was really nice to have everything set for us, especially since we flew in for this trip. If you are on the fence about renting this home, do it!! Go, relax, and let the good times roll. ?

Stayed a few nights I have to say we loved Jill's place very much! We had a great time and got to enjoy everything the desert has to offer (including meeting a real scorpion and one gigantic spider). The kids loved the covered pool area and wandering around outside trying to catch lizards. It's very close to Joshua Tree National park and that was definitely a plus for us! We took awesome pictures of the night sky! Loved her music selection, movie collection and above all the mid century decor. This place pretty much made our family getaway fun, exciting and memorable and we didn't need anything because the place has it all. Jill is an awesome host and we will definitely come back again soon :)

Scorpio Rising was not just a place to stay, but an amazing experience. For our third time staying near Joshua Tree National Park, this was the first time we truly felt immersed in the desert. The views, sunrises and sunsets were stunning, and we got visits from numerous wildlife (including coyotes and a roadrunner on the first day!). Jill has a flair for that Midcentury Modern aesthetic and her home furnishings were right on point. We enjoyed playing horseshoes, a joyful campfire night and of course the hot tub. We enjoyed exploring the desert through all the thoughtfully created walking paths, listening to music, and just hanging out after gorgeous hikes through JTNP. And Jill's kitchen was well-equipped enough to handle our Easter meal prep and egg dyeing. It was such a remarkable weekend that won't soon be forgotten! Thanks from all.

Fantastic house with a great location. You can see a few other houses but it is definitely on the outskirts of town, which we appreciated. We stayed during a period where outdoor temp was 110+ and the pool area was the perfect setup to spend hours outdoors. Kitchen area and dining is well set up for a group, with basics and dishware available. The best part of this house is the outdoor viewing. We would sit in the living room for sunsets and sunrises and watch the squirrels, birds, and others use the feeder and bowl. The quails would peck at the mirrored blocks in the feeding area at their own reflection! House setup is really nice, with two bedrooms attached to the main part of the house and a third larger bedroom across the covered pool area with its own bathroom. The covered pool area has surrounding walls and windows so it feels like part of the house, without question. Highly recommended house here, especially if you're planning on going into the Joshua Tree National Park. Just a couple minutes from the better, less crowded eastern entrance.

The stars at night and desert quiet were as wonderful as we expected. Watching the wildlife from the living room windows was really special, more than we imagined. Enchanting and relaxing salt water pool and hot tub. Exceptionally comfy beds and sheets, dreamy. Sunny, pleasant home and charming, open-vista property very close to the park. Much attention to detail in the décor but neutral enough to quiet the chatter in one's mind. Notes with helpful information with a sense of humor reflected the good communication we had with Jill from the beginning. We hope to come back again.

Fantastic spot with so many different things to do! The house perfectly serves as a gallery to showcase the beautiful desert landscape and as an oasis during the hot hours of the day, providing you with multiple entertainment opportunities and relaxation while still completely immersing you in nature. There’s nothing better than sitting in a hot tub in the middle of the night with nothing but the stars and desert breeze!

Jill’s place is truly the ideal desert getaway. Thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, you feel like you’re actually IN the desert, among the plants and critters. (The bunnies stole our hearts.) The house is super isolated on a large plot of land with not much else around, so it also offers the freedom to wander and get to know the local wilderness. But then again we had trouble leaving the actual house, which is so comfy and cool (70s themed) and fully stocked with everything you could need to cook and entertain yourself (lots of old toy collections etc). The barbecue and fire pit and hot tub were likewise all beautiful and fully prepped and easy to use. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place to get to know 29 Palms, and a more thoughtful host! Every detail was considered. Thank you so much Jill ❤️

Stunning views, great little photo props laying around the property, gorgeous, sunrises, and sunsets, awesome hot tub, refreshing pool, decorated really well, funky style, lovely fire pit, always something to do, overall highly recommend! Super relaxing and fun :-)

Perfect desert adventure. We had a beautiful time cooking for each other in the easy to use kitchen and watching the sunset down through the floor to ceiling living room windows. The stars are absolutley stellar here since it is so far away from any city lights. Our group's favorite part was watching the birds and jack rabbits with the binoculars while they ate from the feeder. We could have stayed a week longer! Jill is a fantastic and gracious host. I could not recommend Scorpio Rising enough!

This is a very special place and Jill is a perfect host. Each morning, we woke up to a perfect sunrise and each evening we relaxed to a perfect sunset. Rabbits, birds, and small squirrels frolicked within sight. The house allows you to experience the calm and peace of the desert in a house furnished by a host with a kickass design sensibility. The kitchen had everything we needed and the fridge was well-stocked with essentials when we arrived. We made good use of the record player [remember those?] as the house called out for listening to some Hank Williams or other desert-friendly music. Its a quick drive to a less-crowded entry to the Joshua Tree National Park. It's a perfect place for stressed-out city dwellers to relax and reconnect with nature. We had a memorable stay and I highly recommend this place!

If you're even thinking about this house - don't delay, just book it! What an amazing experience - great A/C, wifi, beds, pool, kitchen - the VIEW! It's just so beautifully designed and inspirational with great attention to detail. The glass living room allow for sunset watching, a fantastic pool and outdoor space, and there's always loads of TV if you want a little chill out night. We will be back for sure, such a great, peaceful stay.

This was one of my favorite places to stay of all my airbnb experiences. It was clean, spacious, and exactly as shown on the listing. It was evident a lot of thought went into the decor and it added a warm vibe to our stay. The indoor pool was amazing. The home was well stocked with cleaning supplies, linens, toiletries and anything you needed. It was nice to be off the beaten path while close enough to stores, market and restaurants. Highly recommend it and already booked a second trip back. Jill was an excellent and communicative host, upon arrival there was a guest book that provided thorough instructions for the house as well as recommendations in the area
