LOCATION

We are in very special place called Wonder Valley. Remote in feeling, but only a 10 min drive past the city of Twentynine Palms, and 15 minutes from the the north entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.

THE HOME

Scorpio Rising is a three bedroom home, full of curiosities, character, and nice natural light. Originally a homestead cabin, it has had several additions including the fully enclosed pool area, and plenty of outdoor amenities.

The KITCHEN is bright and filled with kitsch and color. I have most appliances you could need, Coffee maker, French Press, Blender, Microwave, small Air Fryer, Juicer, Mixer, vintage barware and TONS of pretty pyrex for the chef or baker in the group. Complementary selection of coffees & teas, and a fullly stocked spice rack.

The DINING ROOM is the center of the house, watch the wildlife out the picture window while sipping your coffee etc. You will find the record player, vintage board games, and selection of indie films/DVDS here.

The glass boxed LIVING ROOM, is the jewel of the house allowing you to feel like you are one with the desert with and the comforts of inside. Relax on the Adrian Pearsal sofa, or shag carpet and enjoy the view day or night. TV is equipped with Netflix, GAIA, Criterion Collection, Hulu streaming, and a blueray player with several DVD's available.

BEDROOM 1 has a queen size bed, with a firm mattress., and views outside and to the pool.

CASITA BEDROOM is a private primary bedroom, accessed off the pool area. Has a king bed, firm mattress, daybed. .

BEDROOM 3 has a double bed, firm mattress, and view outside.

BATHROOM 1 in the main house with shower. Shampoo, Conditioner, Toiletries, First aid provided.

BATHROOM 2 is off the pool area with shower. Shampoo, Conditioner and soap provided

BEDROOM 3 has a double bed, firm mattress, and view outside.

HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING: Split system units throughout the main house, in each bedroom, and a wall unit in the Master Pool Bedroom. Note: the office is the only room not specifically conditioned, but is cooled by the main ac in the Dining area.

INTERNET we have highspeed internet and wifi throughout the house.

LAUNDRY we have a energy efficient Washer and Dryer at the entry of the home. Note: it takes a but longer than a normal wash cycle so plan ahead (and use quick settings). The washer grey waters the trees on the east side of property.

THE PROPERTY

Situated on 5 acres, we have just so much outside to enjoy in addition to the landscape. Raised area off the pool with a large dad BBQ and plenty of vintage patio seating for outdoor dining. LOUNGE CHAIRS positioned for watching the sunsets, sunrises. FIREPIT area for evening fires underneath the stars (when permitted by fire dept). Regulation size HORSESHOE court, our own HUMAN SUNDIAL that allows your body position to tell the time. Vintage GLIDER and chairs under the shade of the pine trees for morning coffee breaks and cocktails.

Explore the property's native plants (in sensible shoes) and watch for the jackrabbits, quail, dove, roadrunner, and sometimes owls that frequent the house. At night listen for the coyotes' and keep an eye out for bats.

POOL / HOT TUB pool is partially covered from the elements. It is not heated, but our Hot Tub outside under the stars is. Our pool cleaner and friend Matt services both on Fridays.

SECURITY Scorpio Rising is equipped with systems to help keep guests comfortable and secure. Outdoor lighting at entry is on from dusk til dawn and outdoor security cameras monitor the entry areas only.

PARKING, we have covered parking for one car (or many moto's), plenty of additional parking, and a large parking lot / turnaround for RV's or trailers.

ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING. We have two chargers to the left of the front entry, however please only use one at a time.

IS THE POOL HEATED?

The pool is not heated, but have no fear our outdoor hot tub is. The pools warms up around May and swim season typically lasts through Mid October.
